After a bye in the first round, the girls finally got their Mercian cup campaign up and running.
Starting the game with an impeccable observed minutes silence from both teams.
The girls started slowly and allowed Worcester to get into the game. There were glimpses of great play but it was becoming increasingly frustrating for a number of players as the game went on.
Phoenix had a few good chances and finally made the break through just before half time, when Dunlop tapped in from close range.
After the team talk the girls went out ready but were hit with a sucker blow as Worcester equalised almost immediately. The first goal conceded by Phoenix since April of last year. Now it was all about how they reacted.
As the game went on Phoenix got stronger and finally got their rewards when Hackett tapped in from a few yards out to win the game.
There were a few nervy moments in the last ten minutes but the girls hung on for their seventh win out of seven for the season.
Next Saturday we play at Mill Lane vs Halas Hawks
